Robotic Convoy (Leader - Follower)
ASI's Guideline leader-follower system was developed to show how robotic systems don't have to rely on GPS, RF communications, or expensive sensors to produce robust, value-added functionality.

How it works:

A simple follower-mounted tether tracks the path of the lead vehicle. The follower then drives this path at a speed-adjusted distance using dead reckoning. THere is no communication through the tether, which is simply hooked to any convenient point on any desired vehicle.
